Michael W. Saunders, President and Chief Executive Officer
Michael began his healthcare career as general manager of an agency that handled mainly delinquent medical accounts. Seeing the need for a quality billing service, along with two partners, he purchased MDAssociates in 1994. Michael headed North Carolina operations and served as president before assuming the company's top spot in 2005.
He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in accounting and a member of American Health Information Management Association, the Virginia Medical Group Management Association, and the American Academy of Professional Coders.
A. Wayne Saunders, Secretary/Treasurer
Wayne brings a wealth of experience in finance and technology to his role as MDAssociates' secretary/ treasurer, in which he oversees financial management for the company and its clients. Before joining the company in 1994, he served as Director of Information Services at Altria Group, a Fortune 500 Company, where he worked for 19 years. A retired CPA, Wayne also headed a local public accounting firm for 13 years.
Robert Z. Haskins, Jr., Vice President of Client Development
Robert is probably the first person you'll meet because he spends his time establishing new business relationships and taking care of our existing clients. He joined the company in 2001 after seven years as Surgical Account Manager and Vascular Specialist for Argon Medical. Robert also was a National Account Manager with Lanier Worldwide.
Barbara Dalton, Vice President of Credentialing and Human Resources
Barbara knows practice management. Before joining MDAssociates in 1998, she was manager of a busy orthodontic office. A former Virginia educator as well, Barbara held several positions with us before becoming a vice president in 2002. She oversees our physician credentialing operations and helps us attract and keep outstanding employees.
